From the life of a solidpixels ambassador: from five in the morning to midnight with Dagmar Korbová from Oktopusy

6 minutes

Who are our ambassadors? How do they work, what do they enjoy and what are they currently working on? In the next part of our column, we talked to Dagmar Korbová, the founder of Oktopusy.

What does a typical working day look like in Octopus?

There is no such thing as a typical day with a routine. The day unfolds according to what marketing campaigns we're working on for clients and what stage they're at - so we might be shooting, working on a communications strategy, working on a PNO campaign, etc. The concentration of the day also depends on how many new websites and e-commerce sites we're working on and how many clients we're currently talking to about new collaborations. That's why, during the most exposed periods, our working day starts around 5am and ends before midnight.

Why did you and Oktopusy decide to become solidpixels ambassadors?

We started working with solidpixels in 2018 and from the first moment we were convinced that this was the right partner to work with. The main reason for us was the benefits of the ambassador cooperation and the fact that solidpixels is a Czech company. The bottom line is that this is a solution that makes us or our clients absolutely free, because there is no need to develop or code anything and thus become dependent, for example, in the further development of the website.

What is the most common myth about the web/working with it among your clients?

The best collaborations are with clients who come in with no experience and turn to us as the experts. Part of getting the client to understand why this or that should be on the site is by giving them at least a framework of how the online world works, that just having a beautiful site is not enough. And this is one of the most common mistakes made by clients who believe that a nice website alone will bring visits, enquiries and further conversions without any further development or marketing support.

In Oktopusy you help brands with their digital footprint. What do you think they are currently underestimating most in this area?

It's definitely branding and working on your own identity. Even a small brand, sole trader or artisan can have a core idea and added value to communicate, not just on the web. Gone are the days when a discount or preaching individual approach (that's a forbidden phrase here in Oktopusy, by the way) was the best strategy.

The Ambassador Program is here for professionals who want to deliver world-class websites to their clients. Try it too.

What do you see as the key advantage of solidpixels?

Continuous innovation and development of the platform's functionalities. Intuitiveness, and the fact that solidpixels is a bit "idiot-proof" because it is designed in a way that doesn't let you do things outside the rules for web design. So a pro can build a website on it, but so can a layman. Also worth mentioning is the great technical support.

Will you share your recent favorite projects with us?

A favorite project is one that fulfills the client's goals. With hindsight, we can mention the zelenedoubravice.czwebsite , which grew during the biggest real estate crisis, because the old website absolutely did not work, which was only discovered when the market demand dropped to zero. We did a user survey with existing residents and the results from it, got into communication. The site slowly started generating enquiries and today the next phase of construction is being planned.

Another project that is definitely worth mentioning is the website for the sustainable store at Václav Havel Airport. We came up with the name of the concept, its motto and logo and also built a new website futureislocal.czon the green field. In addition to the idea of the project, it also introduced the brands, their stories and products, and became a key communication tool directly in the store, which is linked to the website via QR codes.
